Hero-pool expansion

Marvel Rivals Hero Pool Planner

A practical Pocket Rivals planner for building a small ranked hero pool. Use it to choose a comfort pick, a safe swap, and a role backup without pretending one live-stat ranking knows your lobby.

Comfort pick · safe swap · role backup

Planning rule

Add heroes for jobs, not for panic swaps

A useful lower-rank hero pool should help you answer the same repeated problems: taking space, surviving dive, reaching a backline, stabilizing support sightlines, or changing tempo without breaking the team shape.

Your pool should answer a repeated problem

Do not add a hero because they look strong in a vacuum. Add them because they solve the fight pattern that keeps beating your current pick.

Your pool should be small enough to practice

Three heroes in one role usually teaches more than eight heroes you only play when tilted.

Your pool should survive bad team shape

Below Diamond, your backup pick should help when comms are quiet, the comp is imperfect, or one teammate keeps overextending.

Vanguard

Space pool

Build around one hero that starts fights, one hero that survives pressure, and one backup that stabilizes messy lobbies.

Comfort space

The pick you can use to choose the next corner and make the first fight readable.

Anti-dive answer

The pick you use when the enemy keeps collapsing on your backline.

Tempo backup

The pick for faster fights when slow front-to-back space is not moving the lobby.

Duelist

Pressure pool

Cover one reliable damage pattern, one answer for hard-to-reach threats, and one safer pick for games where flanks are punished.

Reliable pressure

The hero you can use without needing a perfect flank or full-team engage.

Backline reach

The hero that forces supports, snipers, or setup heroes to move.

Safer conversion

The hero that can finish visible targets when risky dives keep failing.

Strategist

Stability pool

Build around one comfort support, one dive-survival option, and one team-shape pick for lobbies that need a different support job.

Comfort sustain

The support you can play cleanly while tracking line of sight and enemy pressure.

Dive survival

The support you choose when your backline is the enemy team's first target.

Utility backup

The support that changes the team plan through mobility, tempo, or a different save tool.

Review prompt

The test before you queue

If you cannot explain when each hero enters your pool, the pool is still too vague. Write one sentence for each slot: what problem it solves, what fight it avoids, and what first play you will take.
