Jean and the Phoenix left Krakoa before the Timestream Entanglement struck. Their journey took them across the galaxy, saving countless civilizations. Sensing an unusual disturbance in time and space, Jean and the Phoenix decided to travel to Klyntar to eliminate the darkness at its source: Knull, the King in Black.
